val - full name valerie aria, former stage name "ARIA" - is an oni radio broadcaster living in an abandoned radio station in new york city. val, a singer-songwriter, performed with various music artists and collaborative partners during her late teens to mid 20s and toured across the states. eventually, she settled in brooklyn, working for (and practically living in) a former military radio station with the callsign matching her namesake "ARIA.FM", and hosting various radio stations and segments for the greater NYC and tri-state area.following threats of environmental collapse and political aggression, val took on a journalistic role at her station, providing news to resistance forces and announcing humanitarian aid to those tuned in to her signal. as the environmental collapse began to set in and most citizens began to head westward, val laid her roots in her station, integrating her heart and soul into the announcements and broadcasts sent out.becoming a permanent tenant at the ARIA.FM station, val has become a hermit, providing information to the waning NYC population and influencing others with her music preferences. she lives at the station with her two cats, clicky and susie. she is obsessed with desserts, coffee, and spends most of her time glued to her screen and monitoring the station's equipment. even in her sleep, her signals reach her listeners and she prays that her words reach them even in their darkest days.
